January has been a super busy month for me, thankfully in a good way for me. I did my first ever podcast interview and it was a blast! I was on the Indie Authors Podcast with E.L. Sprockett and we had such a good chat. You can listen to in here on Spotify.
Witch of the Lunar Order went out for a developmental edit, which is looking at the overall story structure and plot, and came back with lots of helpful feedback. I added about 14k words, but will have to trim it back down. The story was already in good shape, this is just to make it shine.
Though, as with anything we create, there is always a fear that when you ask for someone opinion it will come back with terrible things to say. This was not the case, but that is the joy of imposter syndrome.
After I finish off my revision, I’ll send it off to some beta readers for a final check. Then it heads to a copy editor who helps to improve and correct the story on a sentence level. Last will come ARC copies and then finally I’ll hit publish (again) in May. But more on that later, I know the real reason you’re here. To get your first look at my shiny never cover. Well here it is!
Isn’t she gorgeous? I just adore this new cover! It reflects the story within far better and looks more at home next to all the other amazing urban fantasy novels on the shelves.
I decided to change the title too, as Witch of the Lunar Order didn’t fit with the story. My original plan had been to have Nyssa be involved with the Lunar Order in book 1 but, like most things when it comes to writing, my characters ran away with the story.
What does this relaunch mean?
Though I am relaunching this book, it will still be under the same profile on Amazon. This means that it will keep all its reviews (good for me) and if you already own a copy of Witch of the Lunar Order it will automatically be updated (great for you).
I will be looking for more ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) readers in April, this will mean you can get an early release copy of the novel to read in the hopes that you will enjoy it and leave a review. If you’d like to be an ARC reader I have a sign-up form ready!
I hope you are as excited as I am! May cannot come soon enough. What do you think of the new cover?
Congrats!
