Sorry for the radio silence from my end. I’m in the thick of implementing edits from my wonderful beta readers and there are not enough hours in the day! No thanks to Daylight Savings too! Days seems to go in the blink on an eye and one of the joys of being a Stay at home mum and author is I never know what day it is!
But on to more fun things, Blood of the Stars is out now! And I’m hoping to get back into reading once the craziness of my life allows me a few spare hours.
Ready for an epic adventure?
Blood of the Stars is the debut novel of Karye Norton and her Kickstarter for this book was funded in 1 hour! I obviously backed this too, I love epic fantasy and this one is a chocky boy coming in at 665 pages.
Well if you missed the Kickstarter you can grab your copy TODAY! Book 1 in The Half-Light Chronicles is live today, available in KU or for $4.99.
So a bit about the book:
Content warning: G for language, PG for romance, PG-13 for fantasy violence. There is a sweet clean sloooow burn romance subplot that is mostly friendship in book one.
Blurb:
Harnessing the power in her blood could turn the tides of war—if it doesn’t destroy her first.
It’s been fourteen years since Prince Gaeren lost Aeliana, the childhood friend he’d sworn to protect. Haunted by the unfulfilled promise, he searches for a way to bring her home. But with threats against the kingdom from both a rebel faction in the south and Mayvus, a power-hungry priestess in the east, he only has time to follow one last clue across the seas.
Kidnapped as a child, Aeliana is desperate to be rid of the chaotic magic in her blood, magic her captors use to ravage the land. When she’s found by Gaeren’s rebel enemies, she joins their fight to rescue her mother from Mayvus, but her unwieldy power only serves to attract Mayvus' attention. Aeliana must learn to control her magic before they reach her mother, or risk becoming the weapon Mayvus needs to take complete control of the kingdom.
Blood of the Stars is the first book in an epic fantasy series full of magic, intrigue, found family, reluctant royalty, & descendants of Stars on the brink of war.
If you don’t know Karyne, she also has a great podcast Finding Fantasy Reads where her brother and her narrate short stories from amazing authors. You can check it out here! These bite size stories are a great way to find new fantasy authors without the hassle. Not to mention these two are fantastic narrators. I love to put this one when I’m doing boring things like dishes or folding clothes, and it actually encouraged me to try out more audiobooks.
Have you had any great fantasy reads of late? I’ve had a few, which I’ll share once I have time to write up a review!
